REVIEWS:
... "Three the hard way", features three mixes, by England's DJ Scud (from Ambush records), Bombardier (from the USA, connaisseurs will recognize his name from the "XXXd Generation" compilation) and N1tro, a newcomer from Berlin.

... Next is Bombardier, who is clearly the most industrial DJ of the CD. His set starts quite slowly, but then turns out into a mayhem of noise, gabber and saturated samples in its second half. The sounds here are noisier than DJ Scud's, and also closer to the "usual" rhythmic noise sounds. Darker and building in a more classic way, this is maybe the least surprising set of the three for most of the readers of Recycle Your Ears, but it is also the one that would be the most successfull on a dancefloor, in my opinion. Reminding somehow of the two excellent "Biomechanik" compilations by Manu le Malin, this is industrial gabber-ized techno of the first class. One will also notice the samples from Babyland on "Stomach" and the vocals by Kids 606 on "White heat".

...All in all, "Three the hard way" present three different and well done mixes. The styles are rather different, and the disc is well built toward more and more violence. Bombardier's set is a real nice aggressive rhythmic noise mix, and N1tro's one is energetic, broken and rich, just like it should. On the other hand, this stays mixed tracks (even though most of them were written by the DJs themselves), and it's difficult, if not impossible, to spot one track in particular (the longest playing for 2 minutes and 43 seconds). But yes, the hard way is the good way.

-Nicolas Chevreux (Ad Noiseam)

Pustet. Perfekt.

REVIEWS:
Electron Abuse... a double 12-inch compilation on Detroit's Low Res label containing eight tracks from some of the top Midwest (and Canadian) hardcore producers...

The highlights for me are the two tracks by Jason Snell done unders his Bombardier and Kamphetamine aliases. Snell really has a way with beats, bass, and noise. Whether churning out gabber metal headstop anthems or slo-mo hip-hop detonating beats with molasses-thick, bowel-churning bass, you can always be assured of quality production -- especially on the thick, juicy bass tones. The Bombardier track (entitled "DC") on here is one of Snell's greatest -- an endless scream coupled with a rough punk guitar loop over neck-snappingly fast gabber beat. Harsher than grindcore and just as visceral, this track should be 12 minutes long, but otherwise is perfect if you can handle the dirt and the grime. Switching to his Kamphetamine moniker, Snell whips out more metallic speed-pounding and punk-rock grooves (in a track called "Stomach"). This track is powered by an energetic vocal loop that drives the track forward. This guy should be topping the charts in some imagined post-apocalyptic scenario somewhere.

-Carlos Pozo (Grooves Magazine,)

A compilation double 12" of midwest all star hardcore. This pretty much touches base with all the midwest hardcore/breakcore scene, and the great shit coming out. Kamphetamine (a Bombardier side project) drops a punk sampling straight hardcore jam you may have heard from his self-released tapes... Bombardier drops one of his most energetic live tracks, showing his hardcore punk infuences, and just tears it up with yelling distorted guitar riffs and double kicks.

FEATURED TRACK:
Incinerator

REVIEWS:
Bombardier presents a harsh Panacea-esq track that assaults with destructive drum n bass elements that are laced by a dirging bass melody and dense chameleon-like synthetic loops and phases.

-Anton (Nezzwerk)

Bombardier brings the disc to a thick and heavy close with "Incinerator," ... a suspenseful intro threatening of the destructive, distorted beats...

-Grinding into Emptiness

Bombardier's "Incinerator" is ground into gruel underneath stentorian bass reverberations and splintered harmonics. The future of rhythmically infused electronic music starts here.

-JC Smith (Alternative Press)
