| DESCRIPTION: |
The premiere of the Division
13 label and crew of aliases together on the same release.
This release began the pseudoname experiment, releasing various
material by Jason Snell under 3 different monikers. Excommunicated
(alternately entitled in French, "L'Excommunie") is a full-length
continuous mix CD featuring tracks by Bombardier, Kamphetamine,
and 13th Hour. |

| REVIEWS: |
Awesome full-length CD filled..., no...,
overflowing with the punkcore darkness we know and love from
BOMBARDIER. Manages to invoke the spirit of SKINNY PUPPY,
the ghost of DISCHARGE, a tropical hurricane weather, and,
well, himself within the short time it will take you to say "damn,
I think I'm witnessing the birth of a new hardcore. 28 relentless
tracks mixed into a flowing and emotional set.

of the Future)
DIVISION 13 - "Excommunicated" CD 2000 U.S.
13TH HOUR - "Demons & Angels" CD 2002 U.S.
BOMBARDIER - "Live" CD 2003 U.S.
BOMBARDIER - "VII" CD 2004 U.S.
Woah! That's a big chunk there, and I'll tell ya why they're
grouped together here. All works are (just a few of) the
pseudonym's of "Industrial Hardcore" artist JASON SNELL.
Though there are marked differences in structure between
these 4 particular projects, there's enough (awesome!) similarities
in vibe and direction (and the PHENOMENAL graphics & layout!)
to warrant saving a little space here (this in no way is
to detract from Jason's IMPORTANCE as I really do believe
he's a hidden gift to "extreme" music as a whole!). All the
tying themes are an eyebrow-raising MASTERY of control over
analog recording techniques (you can hear the tape hiss in
a warm inviting kind of way), seamless (!!!) mixing, interesting
death-ambient/doom (maybe almost goth) synth (that occasionally
drifts away from the percussion to tell it's own story!)
under ultra-distorted bass lines and spattery (hissing sometimes)
drums bringing to mind SKINNY PUPPY (or maybe more consistently
their "undance" side band DECREE). What makes this so fascinating
though is that Jason is pulling this style off from within
the techno scene (how's THAT for a crazy angle!). Tel Aviv's
HIBOU is the only other industrial project that comes to
mind that is juxtaposing the two styles (which aren't so
at odds I think), although HIBOU is also taking a more cognitive
approach for 4/4 beat recognizability. Right then, the MUSIC:
..."Excommunicated" has plenty of pugs in IT's pinata gang!
The purest raw expression of TRUE academic (maybe purging!?)
stories of rage, love, and ANGST! This mixing on this is
NOTICEABLY FLAWLESS (shit!). Unbelievable variety expressed
not only in sounds but in 28 trax. No time is wasted but
neither is the GLOOM (all his releases feel as if there's
some great cosmic tragedy playing out)! This is as aurally
beautiful as it is digitally (plenty of traditional painting
and sculpture of Jason's own design is juxtaposed perfectly
into the grfx!)...

Noise zine)
Like an adventure thru some dark jungle in the Amazon with
creepy effects and live mutant howlings. Some 28 tracks of
proper brokenbeats to get freaky with. Produced by Midwests
baddest from Bombardier (Low Res/ Ghetto Safari), 13th Hour,
Kamphetamine. Nice packaging and insert to verse youself
in the outerworld of darker d'n'b and broken beats.
